• Sautéed Green Beans

March 17, 2017

Green beans have always been one of my favorite vegetables. When I was young I would eat the French Cut style straight out of the can. Then when my daughter was born one of the first solid foods I gave her were green beans. Of course I had to give you an easy recipe for super tasty green beans.

Recipe Ingredient List

  • 1.5 pounds of fresh green beans
  • 2.5 Tablespoons of Tuscan Herb Olive Oil
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons diced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

*Note - you can use any flavor oil for this recipe, including Habanero

Begin by popping of the ends of the green beans; I usually use about 1 or 1.5 pounds of beans. Then rinse them in cold water and set them to the side. In a large skillet heat up about 1 Tablespoon of any flavor of Olive Oil, I used Tuscan Herb but I have heard of people using almost any flavor, including the hot flavors. When the oil is pretty warm add the beans that are still a little wet from rinsing then add about 1/3 cup of chicken broth and cover. Let this cook for a couple minutes on medium high heat, the liquid and the lid steam the beans.

Add 2 teaspoons or one clove of diced garlic. I buy the jarred kind to save time and smelly fingers, haha. Also, add a little more oil, salt, pepper; then stir, mix, flip it around, you know what I mean; all the beans get oil and garlic. Check you liquid level; if you pan is dry add more chicken broth if you still have some... cover the pan with the lid tilted and the beans will steam and evaporate any extra liquid.

Cook until the beans are al dente or soft and enjoy.
